Rand Simulation History
Rand SIM has a rich and extensive history in the engineering simulation and design spaces. Many members of our team began their careers at Blue Ridge Numerics, the first company to bring CFD technology to the forefront of the product development process. When Autodesk acquired Blue Ridge Numerics in 2011, a group of senior employees founded IDP, a collaborative consulting group helping firms leverage engineering simulation to optimize designs for performance, cost control, and innovation.
In 2012, Rand Worldwide acquired IDP to add CFD and FEA to its service offerings. Based on the success of this business, Rand Worldwide then formed the Rand Simulation division to expand its offerings by becoming an Ansys software provider in 2018 while continuing to also deliver engineering analysis consultancy services.
Our commitment to the simulation space is evidenced in our being named Ansys Americas Partner of the year in 2019 and our achieving Elite Channel Partner status in 2021.
